Combining the ACT with Upper Mustang trek!
I’m thinking of combining the ACT with Upper Mustang trek. The idea is to take a jeep up to Chame, take a walk through Manang and Thorung-la to Muktinath, and then instead of completing the trip through Jomsom, to go north, to the Upper Mustang.
I am well aware that I would need a special permit for that – the question if this itinerary makes sense at all (am thinking about end of April – early May for this). How much time would you plan for this?

After chame if you hike through Manang (you wrote Mustang) . Only for ACT from chame if you start hiking you can reach Muktinath via Thorong pass in a week. From Muktinath for upper mustang Lomanthang need more than one week hike. There is 3 days festival mid of May in Upper Mustang which helds every year. So plan at least 4 weeks all together ACT and Upper Mustang.
I actually have something similar on my mind around the same time (April/May) While circuit doesn’t require a guide upper Mustang does. Plan would be to do Circut with Tilicho and then arrange for a guide FROM Kagbeni into Upper Mustang (no porters).
