How adventurous is the travel from Pokhara to Muktinath?
Planning to travel next year April by jeep from Pokhara to Muktinath. It would be over 2 / 3 days with a night in Marpha and one night Kagbeni. Then driving back to Tatopani. A family trip with two 12 year olds. Anyone has any thoughts on this? How adventurous is the travel? From what I understand it takes 4 hrs from pokhara to tatopani where we stop for lunch then 2 hrs to marpha. About 2 hrs to kagbeni and half hr from kagbeni to muktinath. Then 5 hrs down to tatopani from where we will start our trek into the sanctuary.

We flew from Pokhara to jomson and then walked the rest. Not hard. I still dream about Kagbeni, a magical town
I have done it by bus in April and it was tricky in parts. A bridge had washed away. It’s probably OK if you are an experienced off-road driver and do not expect it to be an easy flat road.
3 days is perfect itinerary to visit upto Muktinath from Pokhara. First day itinerary can be visit Kushma, Galeswor, Tatopani kobag Marpha and overnight and Overnight in Marpha. Second day itinerary can be visit Jomsom, Kagbeni Dumba Lake and Muktinath overnight in Kagbeni. 3rd day direct drive to Pokhara
It’s a long drive and to me it is a shame to spend so little time in Kagbeni/Muktinath when there are some great day hikes there, not forgetting that Muktinath is almost 4000m so you need to acclimatize. I would suggest staying longer and exploring Lubra via the Lubra Pass, Tiri, Dumba Tal, Dharkejong, the villages in the valley up to Muktinath like Jhong and so on.
Hello tatopani it s good because spring hot water it s nice, marpha 1 night i t s small, kapbeni it s very nice and After go ton muktintha,. The road IS no good. in bus pokhara tatopani 7h and After ton marpha 3/4h, thé road betwing jomoson and kapbeni IS verty very beatiful, tu good trip
Pokhara is awesome..Muktinath is intresting. Kagbeni is a lovely town..not sur eu will need much time in each town..the roads are slow and tediousfrom kagbeni to marpha..and not great senery and bumpy as it runs besides the river. We herd great stuff about Marpha but it was very disappointing
Roads till beni from Pokhara is fine, from beni to tatopani, there are off-road trails and expect bumpy rides, so time to reach from one point to another can differ. Some section up to Marpha is black topped and from kagbeni to Muktinath is also black topped.
